FAQs

1. How can I use your books and resources with children?

Please visit our social media pages via the Links section of the website for plenty of ideas and inspiration! We are also compiling ideas in a monthly journal which will grow more extensive over time. (see journal section)

2. Where can you travel to for training?

Currently we have worked with settings mainly in the North West, UK. However, please get in touch if you are UK based and feel like we could help! We do not currently travel internationally for training, however, we can do online conferences (subject to our availability) and can also create video content and articles on request (please contact us to negotiate.)

3. Does anyone else stock your books?

We are currently the only stockists of our books and resources. We ship to most countries.

4. Can I buy your books wholesale?

Please contact Clare via the contact page. Please bear in mind we are a micro publisher so wholesale offers may not be feasible due to per unit printing costs but we are happy to discuss options.

5. Can I pay extra to have my order shipped today/tomorrow?

Unfortunately, we need our processing times to ensure our business runs smoothly and so we are unable to eliminate the processing times. We do however, process all orders as quickly and efficiently as we can.

6. If I order all items together, the international shipping cost increases a lot. Can you ship items together and save the money?

Our shipping profiles are calculated based on the final weight of the parcel. Prices increase depending on weight and so this is the reason for the increased charge. We are unable to operate a flat fee basis due to weight having such an effect on the price of shipping. Please contact Clare if you believe the estimate is incorrect and she will weigh the items and check it for you. We do review all international orders to make sure the pricing is correct before processing.

7. I have an idea for a book. Can you advise on the self publishing process?

In terms of self publishing, it can be quite difficult to advise when asked about this as everyone is different in terms of their skillset, time availability, printing budget and sales expectations etc so it really does come down to doing research and finding out the best options available for your specific requirements. Wehave put together a bit of info for people here:

Once you have the basic content for your book ready to be compiled into a print-ready format, the next step would be the editing process. This is where you need to look into the options available and work out the best one for you. If you search "self publishing options" there is a lot of info online. In our case, it makes sense for us to edit all of our own content ready for print because Clare has a background in art and design. Other self publishers will opt to pay a graphic designer to edit their content. There are various apps/platforms available now also that people use to upload content to templates, we have no experience of these so can't speak for them one way or the other but it's another option to look into. There are also some companies that will edit, print and distribute on demand but again it's not a process we know much about! All worth looking into. If your intention is to have your book printed physically (as opposed to distributing as a digital ebook) and you are doing this yourself you will then need to research the best printing options for you. Do your own research here as it will depend on your specific requirements; page count, materials, budget etc. Search for book printers online or find local printers in your area if you want to meet them. Shop around for quotes etc once you know your page count and specification. If it makes sense for your book to be sold/listed in mainstream outlets and libraries you will need to purchase an ISBN number from Nielsen books (if you are UK based) you can search for them online. Then you'll need to register your publication with them and send a copy to the national library. (There is also lots of info online on how to do all of this.) We hope this helps and good luck with your project!

8. I have an idea for a book/product; will you publish/ illustrate/ edit/ distribute it?

Unfortunately we are not currently able to take submissions or collaborate on external projects due to time constraints and being a small team of two! If this changes we will advertise.

9. Will you promote my product?

Generally, the answer to this is no because we don’t have the time to commit to brand repping. However we do routinely share the work of other creators and authors via our Facebook page at our own discretion when we feel we have shared values.

10. Will Clare visit our school/ setting to talk to the children about her books?

Due to time constraints, we can only visit schools and settings if we have been booked to attend as part of one of our training packages (see training section). For this reason we have compiled a growing number of free demo videos by Clare online (see video section) for children to watch linked to her books.

11. What are your shipping and return policies? When will my order arrive?

Please read the info here
